Why this model

What makes the MG ZS worth importing

01

Assembled in five countries

China, Thailand, India, Taiwan and Indonesia. Very few vehicles of any origin have that breadth of local manufacturing, and it means homologation and parts exist regionally almost everywhere.

02

Petrol, hybrid and electric on one nameplate

A dealer can cover every customer type from a single model line, which simplifies stocking and marketing considerably in a market testing electrification.

03

The Hybrid+ needs no charging

A 1.83 kWh battery with a 100 kW motor for 215 PS combined — self-charging, so it delivers fuel savings in markets with no charging infrastructure at all.

04

Sold in over twenty markets officially

Europe, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, India, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, the GCC and Mexico. Certification precedent exists almost everywhere.

A dash means the manufacturer does not publish that figure for this version — we do not estimate it. Range standards differ: CLTC and NEDC read higher than WLTP for the same car, so compare like with like when quoting against a European rival.

About this model

Where the MG ZS sits in the market

The MG ZS is SAIC's subcompact crossover and one of the most widely manufactured vehicles in the world — assembled in China, Thailand, India, Taiwan and Indonesia, and sold officially across Europe, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Latin America. The second generation from 2024 runs to 4,430 mm with petrol engines up to 125 kW and a Hybrid+ system producing 215 PS combined, while the ZS EV offers 51.1 kWh LFP and 72.6 kWh NMC packs for 320 to 440 km WLTP.

Its strength is ubiquity. Almost nothing about importing this car is unknown: homologation precedents exist in most markets, parts move through established channels, and the MG badge carries recognition. The corollary is that SAIC's own distributors already cover most territories, so an independent importer needs to find the gaps rather than compete head-on.

Which version are you quoting?

Second generation from 2024, larger at 4,430 mm with a Hybrid+ powertrain. The ZS EV is the electric version of the first generation. Petrol, hybrid and electric versions all circulate — specify precisely.

Before you order

What an importer must know about the MG ZS

Both LHD and RHD available — MG supplies right-hand drive to the UK, Australia, India, Thailand and other markets. Assembly runs in China, Thailand, India, Taiwan and Indonesia, so check which origin serves your destination best for duty purposes. Because SAIC has official distribution in most markets for this model, verify whether your destination is already covered — factory warranty follows that channel. Three distinct powertrains circulate under this name (petrol, Hybrid+, ZS EV) across two generations, so be precise in every quote.

MG ZS FAQ

Questions importers ask about this model

Which version suits a market with no charging infrastructure? +
The Hybrid+ on the second generation. It uses a small 1.83 kWh battery with a 100 kW motor for 215 PS combined and charges itself from the engine and braking — no plug required. Customers get meaningfully lower fuel consumption with no infrastructure change at all. The plain 1.5-litre petrol is cheaper still if fuel economy is not the priority.
Where is the best origin to buy from? +
It depends on your destination's trade agreements. Thai-built units often attract lower duty in ASEAN markets, Indian-built cars can be advantageous for South Asia and parts of Africa, and Chinese-built units are usually cheapest ex-works. We compare the landed cost across available origins when the difference is material rather than defaulting to China.
Is the ZS EV still current? +
The ZS EV is the electric version of the first generation, with 51.1 kWh LFP and 72.6 kWh NMC packs giving 320 to 440 km WLTP. The second-generation ZS launched in 2024 as petrol and Hybrid+ rather than electric — SAIC positions the MG4 and other models for pure electric. So ZS EV stock is first-generation, which we state clearly on any quote.
Can EV Auto Pro supply the SAIC MG ZS for export? +
Yes. We source the SAIC MG ZS in China for export to dealers and fleet buyers. Tell us the configuration, destination country and quantity, and we will confirm current availability and send an FOB/CIF quote with the duty and certification picture for your market.
What does a SAIC MG ZS quote include? +
We quote per confirmed configuration rather than publishing a fixed price we cannot hold. Every quote states the vehicle cost, inland transport, export handling, documentation and shipping separately, as EXW, FOB or CIF depending on your request — so you can see exactly what is and is not included before you commit to a deposit.
How is the vehicle checked before shipment? +
We check condition, appearance, mileage, configuration, battery status and basic functions before loading, and send you a photo and video report. If something does not match the specification you ordered, it is resolved before the unit is loaded rather than after it arrives at your port.
What warranty applies to an exported SAIC MG ZS? +
Warranty policy depends on brand, model and destination country, and some manufacturer warranties are limited or void outside China. We explain the actual warranty position for your market before order confirmation rather than after, and we supply common spare and maintenance parts for units we have exported.
