Who is SAIC?
SAIC Motor is China's largest automaker by volume and the parent of MG, Maxus, Roewe and Rising Auto, as well as the partner in the country's two biggest passenger-car joint ventures with Volkswagen and General Motors. For export buyers SAIC matters mostly through MG — the revived British marque that has become China's single biggest passenger-vehicle export brand — and through Maxus vans and pickups.
SAIC is consistently China's number-one vehicle exporter. Europe is the largest destination, driven by MG; Australia and New Zealand, the Middle East, Latin America, Southeast Asia and India through the MG Motor India joint venture are all established, and SAIC operates overseas plants including Thailand and Indonesia.
