How does it compare with a Toyota Hiace? +

The Hiace is the segment benchmark and holds its resale value far better. The Toano undercuts it substantially on purchase price with a Cummins engine that is equally serviceable, and offers similar seat counts. For an operator buying several vehicles where capital cost limits the fleet size, the Toano lets them buy more units. For an owner-operator planning to sell in five years, the Hiace's residual value may still win.

Does seat count affect my import duty? +

Almost always, and often dramatically. Passenger-carrying vehicles are classified differently from cargo vans in most tariff schedules, and many markets have specific thresholds at 12, 15 or 16 seats that change the rate or trigger additional requirements. A 15-seat minibus and a panel van version of the same vehicle can land at very different costs. Confirm your local classification before we specify the build.

Is the Cummins engine the same as in other Foton products? +
