Nissan Sylphy
Why this model
What makes the Nissan Sylphy worth importing
One of China's best-selling sedans
The Sylphy consistently ranks among the top-selling passenger cars in China. That volume means mature production, cheap parts and a car every workshop knows.
e-POWER drives like an electric car
The petrol engine only generates electricity — it never drives the wheels. Customers get electric smoothness and 300 Nm of instant torque with no charging at all.
3.9 L/100 km on the hybrid
That consumption figure in a compact sedan transforms operating cost for taxi and ride-hailing fleets, which is where this car sells hardest.
Nissan's most trusted nameplate in Asia
The Sylphy has been a default family and fleet sedan across Asia for decades. Buyers need no persuading about durability.

Nissan Sylphy technical data
Manufacturer figures for the China-market car. Equipment and certification vary by trim, production batch and destination — we confirm the exact build sheet before the order is placed.

A dash means the manufacturer does not publish that figure for this version — we do not estimate it. Range standards differ: CLTC and NEDC read higher than WLTP for the same car, so compare like with like when quoting against a European rival.

About this model
Where the Nissan Sylphy sits in the market
The Sylphy is Nissan's compact sedan and one of the highest-volume passenger cars in China. It offers a 1.6-litre petrol engine producing 135 PS through a CVT, and an e-POWER hybrid where the petrol engine acts purely as a generator — the wheels are always driven electrically, giving 300 Nm of instant torque and 3.9 L/100 km with no charging required.
The e-POWER version is the interesting one for export. It delivers an electric driving experience and electric-level fuel savings in markets that have no charging infrastructure at all, which is exactly the situation across much of Africa, Central Asia and Southeast Asia. Nissan does not export the Chinese Sylphy officially, so parallel-export applies without dealer warranty.
Facelifted in 2023 with a 12.3-inch touchscreen. The e-POWER hybrid version was added for China and does not need external charging.
Before you order
What an importer must know about the Nissan Sylphy
LHD; right-hand-drive China-built Sylphy is not documented. Nissan does not export the Chinese version, so parallel-export applies with no dealer warranty. Nissan builds the Sylphy in several countries including Thailand, so compare landed cost and duty across origins — a Thai-built car may be cheaper overall in ASEAN markets. The e-POWER system is a series hybrid and needs no charging, which is the main reason to choose it over a conventional hybrid in infrastructure-poor markets.
Market fit
Where the Nissan Sylphy sells
Based on documented export presence and how the vehicle suits local conditions — not a guarantee of homologation, which we confirm per market before you order.
Southeast Asia
The Sylphy is a regional staple and Nissan's brand standing is strong; e-POWER suits markets with no charging network.
Middle East
Taxi and private fleet demand across the Gulf where fuel economy matters and Nissan is well established.
Central Asia
Compact sedan demand with Japanese brand preference and Chinese production undercutting alternatives.
Africa
Taxi and ride-hailing fleets where 3.9 L/100 km transforms the operating economics without any infrastructure change.
