About the Brand
Who is Hyundai?
Hyundai builds in China through Beijing Hyundai, its joint venture with BAIC. After several years of shrinking domestic share the venture has restructured around a narrower range and has been repositioned partly as a production base, with models such as the Mufasa SUV and the Elexio electric SUV developed specifically for Chinese buyers.
Hyundai supplies its global markets from its own plants in Korea, India, the Czech Republic, Turkey, the United States and elsewhere. It has also said it will use spare Chinese capacity to build vehicles for export through its own network — but that is Hyundai shipping to Hyundai, a channel not open to third-party traders. Domestic-market cars bought in China and shipped abroad follow a different route with different consequences, and we treat the two separately.

Domestic-market units bought in China and shipped abroad move through China's parallel-export channel instead. That is legal in the right corridors, but factory warranty and Hyundai dealer support in your country will not necessarily apply, and we make the distinction explicit before you commit.
