Why this model

What makes the BYD Seal worth importing

01

800-volt architecture

The Seal runs an 800 V electrical platform, which shortens DC charging times materially compared with 400 V rivals — the specification buyers compare directly against a Tesla Model 3.

02

Cell-to-body construction

The Blade pack is structural, integrated into the body rather than bolted underneath. That raises torsional rigidity and lowers the centre of gravity, which is why the car drives better than most Chinese sedans of its price.

03

Rear- and all-wheel drive

Unusual at this price. The 390 kW AWD Performance reaches 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds — a halo specification that sells the rest of the range.

04

Wide official homologation

Sold officially across Europe, Australia, Brazil, Mexico, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and more, so type approval exists against several major standards.

A dash means the manufacturer does not publish that figure for this version — we do not estimate it. Range standards differ: CLTC and NEDC read higher than WLTP for the same car, so compare like with like when quoting against a European rival.

About this model

Where the BYD Seal sits in the market

The Seal is BYD's mid-size electric sedan and its most direct answer to the Tesla Model 3. It uses e-Platform 3.0 with an 800-volt electrical system and cell-to-body Blade battery integration, in rear-wheel-drive or dual-motor all-wheel-drive form, with 61.4 kWh and 82.5 kWh pack options rated up to 700 km CLTC.

It is a genuinely competitive car rather than a value proposition, which changes how it should be sold: buyers cross-shop it against the Model 3 and the Hyundai Ioniq 6 on performance and charging speed, not on price alone. BYD retails it officially in Europe, Latin America, Southeast Asia and Australia, so an independent importer's opening is in markets without a BYD distributor — commonly Central Asia, parts of the Middle East and Africa.

Which version are you quoting?

China-market production of the first-generation Seal ran to 2026; export production continues. Confirm model year at order time.

Before you order

What an importer must know about the BYD Seal

LHD standard; right-hand-drive availability is not stated by the manufacturer for every market, so confirm before quoting an RHD country. Charging is GB/T on China-market cars and CCS2 on European and Australian specification. The 800 V architecture means DC charging performance depends heavily on the destination charger — worth setting expectations with the end customer. Where BYD has an official distributor, factory warranty follows that channel and not a parallel-imported unit.

Market fit

Where the BYD Seal sells

Based on documented export presence and how the vehicle suits local conditions — not a guarantee of homologation, which we confirm per market before you order.

Middle East

Long highway distances and fast-charging build-out favour the 800 V platform; premium sedan demand is strong in the Gulf.

Central Asia

No official BYD retail channel in several markets, and buyers there compare directly against imported German sedans.

Latin America

Brazil and Mexico are official Seal markets, so INMETRO and NOM homologation routes are established.

Southeast Asia

Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, Vietnam and the Philippines all take the Seal officially.

BYD Seal FAQ

Questions importers ask about this model

How does the Seal compare with a Tesla Model 3 for my customers? +
The Seal undercuts the Model 3 on price in most markets while offering an 800-volt platform, a structural LFP battery and, in Performance trim, 390 kW and 3.8 seconds to 100 km/h. Tesla wins on charging network and brand recognition; the Seal wins on equipment level and price. In markets where Tesla has no Supercharger coverage, that trade-off usually favours the Seal — which is where we see the strongest dealer interest.
Which Seal version should I order first? +
The Extended Range RWD with the 82.5 kWh pack is the volume choice: up to 700 km CLTC, 570 km WLTP, and the price gap to the Standard car is small relative to the range gained. Order the 390 kW Performance AWD in small numbers as a showroom halo. The 61.4 kWh Standard makes sense only where landed cost is the deciding factor.
Is the Seal certified for European import? +
BYD sells the Seal officially in Europe with WLTP ratings of 460 km and 570 km for the two battery sizes, so European type approval exists for the export specification. That does not automatically transfer to a China-market unit, which is built with GB/T charging and domestic software. If your destination is in Europe, order the export build — we confirm the specification on the invoice before production.
Can EV Auto Pro supply the BYD Seal for export? +
Yes. We source the BYD Seal in China for export to dealers and fleet buyers. Tell us the configuration, destination country and quantity, and we will confirm current availability and send an FOB/CIF quote with the duty and certification picture for your market.
What does a BYD Seal quote include? +
We quote per confirmed configuration rather than publishing a fixed price we cannot hold. Every quote states the vehicle cost, inland transport, export handling, documentation and shipping separately, as EXW, FOB or CIF depending on your request — so you can see exactly what is and is not included before you commit to a deposit.
How is the vehicle checked before shipment? +
We check condition, appearance, mileage, configuration, battery status and basic functions before loading, and send you a photo and video report. If something does not match the specification you ordered, it is resolved before the unit is loaded rather than after it arrives at your port.
What warranty applies to an exported BYD Seal? +
Warranty policy depends on brand, model and destination country, and some manufacturer warranties are limited or void outside China. We explain the actual warranty position for your market before order confirmation rather than after, and we supply common spare and maintenance parts for units we have exported.
