The Tiguan L Pro is SAIC Volkswagen's China version of the third-generation Tiguan, on sale since 2024 — 4,735 mm on a 2,791 mm wheelbase, against 4,551 mm and 2,681 mm for the global car. The range runs from a 1.5-litre mild-hybrid TSI in the 300TSI to a 162 kW 2.0-litre TSI producing 350 Nm in the R-Line, both through a seven-speed DSG, with 4MOTION all-wheel drive available.
The extra length goes into rear legroom, which is where mid-size SUVs usually compromise. Combined with the 2.0 TSI's genuine performance and Volkswagen's brand standing, it competes with Japanese rivals on refinement rather than only price. Note that Volkswagen builds the standard short-wheelbase Tiguan in Germany and Mexico with official distribution in most markets, so the two routes are worth comparing.
